2025-26 SP Game Used CHL Hockey Checklist, Box Breakdown and Key Prospect Cards

2025-26 SP Game Used CHL returns with a 100-card set, one autograph per box, multiple memorabilia hits, and a strong prospect checklist for 2026 NHL Draft watchers.

2025-26 SP Game Used CHL Hockey Checklist, Box Breakdown and Key Prospect Cards

2025-26 SP Game Used CHL Hockey is back on the release calendar after taking a year off, and it once again leans heavily into what makes the brand appealing to prospect-focused collectors. The checklist is built around Canadian Hockey League talent from the OHL, QMJHL and WHL, giving hobby buyers an early shot at players who could become major names by the 2026 NHL Draft and beyond.

This release keeps the format simple but strong. Each hobby box contains nine cards, with one pack per box and 10 boxes per case. Upper Deck is also promising a dependable hit structure: one autograph, three memorabilia cards, three base cards and two base parallels per hobby box. Release date is listed as June 10, 2026.

For collectors who enjoy prospecting with a premium presentation and game-used material, this is one of the more focused junior hockey products of the year.

What is in a 2025-26 SP Game Used CHL hobby box?

The product is designed around a compact, hit-heavy format. A typical hobby box includes:

  • 1 autograph
  • 3 memorabilia cards
  • 3 base cards
  • 2 base parallels

That structure puts a lot of pressure on the checklist to deliver recognizable junior stars, and this year it does. Names like Caleb Desnoyers, Tij Iginla, Terik Parascak, Cameron Schmidt, Jake O'Brien, Carter Bear and Matias Vanhanen help anchor the product, while team depth from clubs such as Prince George, Windsor, Barrie, Moncton and Victoriaville adds more variety.

Base set overview and parallel structure

The base set has 100 cards. Cards 1 through 70 are the main Authentic Prospects section, while cards 71 through 100 make up the New Grooves subset. The product keeps the design split clean, giving collectors both a traditional prospect run and a second visual take on 30 of the top names.

Main base cards have Orange Foilboard parallels numbered to 199. They also have Jersey Number parallels, which are serial-numbered to the player's jersey number. That creates some very short prints, and Upper Deck adds an extra wrinkle collectors will care about: the copy that matches the player's actual jersey number in the print run is signed. For example, if a player wears No. 22, the 22/22 copy receives an autograph.

New Grooves cards are found at one per pack and also have Orange Foilboard parallels. The checklist text lists Orange Foilboard numbering differently in various spots, but the key takeaway is that New Grooves remains a separate, collectible chase with a smaller 30-card run.

Autographs and patch autographs

Autographs are one of the biggest selling points here. Authentic Prospects Blue Autographs land at about 1:3 packs, while New Grooves Blue Autographs are tougher at roughly 1:8 packs. Signed printing plates are also available as 1/1 chase cards, with Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black versions for each plate.

Patch autograph collectors get two different tiers. Authentic Prospects Auto Patch cards are numbered to 49, while New Grooves Auto Patch cards are numbered to 25. That makes the New Grooves signed patches some of the more desirable pack-pulled cards in the product.

One autograph note worth knowing: Maxime Coursol appears in the Blue Auto Parallel checklist with a notation of no blue version, so checklist chasers should keep that detail in mind.

Memorabilia cards and Supreme Patches

SP Game Used CHL would not feel complete without jersey and patch content, and memorabilia remains central to this release. Authentic Prospects Red Jersey cards are seeded one per pack and have Gold Patch parallels numbered to 49. New Grooves memorabilia cards are numbered to 149 with Gold Patch parallels numbered to 25.

The marquee memorabilia insert is Supreme Patches, a 25-card set numbered to 15. These cards feature oversized swatches measuring 2 3/4 inches by 1 3/4 inches, giving the set a premium display appeal that should stand out in the secondary market.

Key serial-numbered base parallel details

The Jersey Number parallels are one of the more interesting checklist wrinkles in the set because numbering changes by player. A few notable examples include Kooper Gizowski /11, Maxim Masse /7, Adam Benak /9, Caleb Desnoyers /18, Justin Carbonneau /8, Cameron Schmidt /19, Jake O'Brien /44, Nikita Klepov /98, Mathis Preston /96 and Jacob Battaglia /88.

There are also a few especially tough short prints tied directly to uniform numbers, including Donald Hickey /1, Ryder Fetterolf /1, JP Hurlbert /2, Ryan Lin /4 and Carson Carels /4.

Top autograph and memorabilia chase names

Several players appear repeatedly across the product in base, autograph, patch autograph, New Grooves and premium memorabilia formats. Those are often the best hobby targets when a release like this hits shelves.

  • Prince George Cougars: Kooper Gizowski, Terik Parascak, Carson Carels, Joshua Ravensbergen
  • Windsor Spitfires: Jack Nesbitt, Ethan Belchetz, Carson Woodall
  • Barrie Colts: Emil Hemming, Kashawn Aitcheson, Cole Beaudoin
  • Moncton Wildcats: Caleb Desnoyers, Alex Mercier
  • Victoriaville Tigres: Egor Shilov, Alexey Vlasov
  • Everett Silvertips: Carter Bear, Raiden LeGall, Matias Vanhanen
  • Kelowna Rockets: Hiroki Gojsic, Harrison Boettiger, Tij Iginla
  • Brantford Bulldogs: Adam Benak, Caleb Malhotra, Jake O'Brien

Collectors chasing team concentration may want to start with Prince George. The Cougars have one of the strongest footprints in the product, with four main base cards, two New Grooves entries, multiple autograph and auto patch appearances, plus four different Supreme Patches cards.

Collector takeaway and checklist notes

There is a lot to like here if your focus is junior hockey talent before NHL licensing and rookie card runs begin in earnest. The checklist is not bloated, the box format is straightforward, and the mix of autographs, game-used jersey cards and premium patches gives the product more depth than a basic prospect release.

The most collectible cards should come from a few specific areas: Jersey Number parallels that match the player's actual sweater number and carry an autograph, New Grooves Auto Patch cards numbered to 25, and the oversized Supreme Patches numbered to 15. Team builders will also find clear hot spots, especially with Prince George, Windsor, Everett, Barrie, Moncton and Victoriaville all showing strong representation across multiple insert types.

For set builders, the 100-card base run is manageable. For hit chasers, the product offers several meaningful scarcity layers. And for prospectors tracking the 2026 draft class, this is one of the earliest premium cardboard snapshots of many names who could move quickly onto NHL hobby radars.
