2025-26 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey Checklist, Box Details, Parallels and Key Rookie Cards

Upper Deck is bringing O-Pee-Chee Platinum back for the 2025-26 hockey season with the familiar chromium-style look that has kept the brand popular with set builders, rainbow chasers and autograph-focused collectors. The release is built around a 300-card base set, a deep Marquee Rookies lineup and a hobby configuration that promises one autograph per box along with a heavy mix of inserts and numbered color.

The product stays close to the formula that collectors already know. Nearly all of the autographs are hard-signed, the parallel rainbow remains extensive, and several of the brand’s recurring insert themes return with fresh checklists. For anyone chasing rookies, this year’s release is loaded with notable names including Ivan Demidov, Ryan Leonard, Zeev Buium, Jimmy Snuggerud, Artyom Levshunov, Matthew Schaefer, Beckett Sennecke and Michael Misa.

Release date is listed as May 20, 2026, subject to change.

2025-26 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Hockey at a glance

  • Set size: 300 cards
  • Base veterans: 200 cards
  • Marquee Rookies: 100 cards
  • Cards per hobby pack: 12
  • Packs per hobby box: 12
  • Boxes per hobby case: 8
  • Cards per blaster pack: 4
  • Packs per blaster box: 6
  • Blaster boxes per case: 20
  • Scheduled release date: May 20, 2026

The base checklist is evenly structured for modern O-Pee-Chee Platinum standards, with veterans numbered 1 through 200 and rookies numbered 201 through 300. Importantly for rookie collectors, the Marquee Rookies are not short printed.

What hobby and blaster boxes deliver

Hobby remains the main destination for autograph seekers and parallel hunters. A typical hobby box includes one autograph, 12 total cards from Path to Victory, Sweet Selections and Vibe Check, six Retro inserts, one Retro Rainbow, two Pink Magma parallels, six Rainbow parallels, three Sunset parallels, five additional numbered parallels and 36 Marquee Rookies.

Blaster boxes are much lighter but still offer retail-exclusive appeal through Yellow Surge parallels. The stated blaster expectation is three Yellow Surge parallels, one insert and six Marquee Rookies per box.

That split keeps hobby centered on signatures and serial-numbered content, while blasters function more as an affordable entry point for collectors chasing rookies and color.

Base set and full parallel rainbow

The 300-card base set again anchors the release, and the parallel lineup is one of the main selling points. The overall rainbow is almost identical to last year, with Turquoise Fragments /249 introduced in the base parallel lineup.

Base set parallels

  • Neon Yellow Surge, blaster exclusive
  • Rainbow
  • Sunset
  • Pink Magma
  • Violet Pixels /299
  • Turquoise Fragments /249
  • Red Prism /199
  • Arctic Freeze /99
  • Cosmic /65
  • Seismic Gold /50
  • Orange Checkers /25, hobby exclusive
  • Emerald Surge /10
  • Bioluminescence /5
  • Golden Treasures 1/1

Pack odds differ for veterans and Marquee Rookies, with Rainbow, Sunset and Pink Magma rookies falling less often than veteran versions. Arctic Freeze, Cosmic and Seismic Gold are hobby and e-Pack exclusives, while Orange Checkers stays hobby-only.

The checklist itself is packed with star power. Veteran standouts include Connor McDavid, Connor Bedard, Sidney Crosby, Auston Matthews, Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, Jack Hughes, David Pastrnak, Alex Ovechkin, Leon Draisaitl, Quinn Hughes, Matvei Michkov, Macklin Celebrini and many more.

Top rookies and Marquee Rookies to know

The rookie side of the set is where much of the long-term interest will sit. Upper Deck gave this release a deep 100-player Marquee Rookies section that stretches well beyond just a handful of headliners.

Among the biggest names are Ivan Demidov of the Canadiens, Ryan Leonard of the Capitals, Zeev Buium of the Wild, Jimmy Snuggerud and Dalibor Dvorsky of the Blues, Artyom Levshunov of the Blackhawks, Beckett Sennecke of the Ducks, Matthew Schaefer of the Islanders, Michael Misa of the Sharks, Zayne Parekh of the Flames, Gabe Perreault of the Rangers and Axel Sandin-Pellikka of the Red Wings.

San Jose has one of the strongest rookie presences in the product with Michael Misa, Cam Lund, Luca Cagnoni and Sam Dickinson in the Marquee Rookies lineup, while Chicago brings Levshunov, Sam Rinzel, Colton Dach, Oliver Moore and Ryan Greene. Montreal’s main rookie centerpiece is Demidov, Washington gets Leonard, and Minnesota lands one of the most important rookie names in Zeev Buium.

Hard-signed autographs remain the centerpiece

Autographs are still the main hobby driver. Rookie Autographs fall at 1:30 hobby packs and 1:450 blaster packs, making them the most important regular autograph chase for many collectors. Parallel versions listed for the Rookie Autographs include Rainbow, Sunset, Blue Fragments, Violet Pixels, Cosmic, Red Prism, Seismic Gold /25, Orange Checkers /15, Emerald Surge /10 and Golden Treasures 1/1.

Some of the biggest Rookie Autograph names include Ivan Demidov SSP, Michael Misa SSP, Matthew Schaefer SSP, Dalibor Dvorsky SSP, Ryan Leonard SP, Jimmy Snuggerud SP, Zeev Buium, Artyom Levshunov, Matthew Wood, Carter Mazur, Jani Nyman, Luca Cagnoni and Axel Sandin-Pellikka.

There are also several player-specific notes collectors should know. Beckett Sennecke, Jacob Quillan and Zayne Parekh do not have parallels numbered /15 or fewer. Jimmy Snuggerud also lacks parallels /15 or fewer. Kirill Kudryavtsev does not have a Golden Treasures version. Noah Ostlund is listed as having no base autograph, with Sunset as SP and Rainbow as SSP. Igor Chernyshov appears in Rookie Autographs even though he does not have a base card.

Vibe Check Rainbow Autos are a compact five-card group led by Connor Bedard.

Insert lineup and parallels

O-Pee-Chee Platinum continues to lean on a modern insert mix with a few familiar themes. Hobby collectors should see a steady stream of inserts thanks to the box averages.

Main insert sets

  • Path to Victory, 25 cards, 1:4 hobby packs, 1:24 blaster packs
  • Sweet Selections, 15 cards, 1:3 hobby packs, 1:20 blaster packs
  • Vibe Check, 15 cards, 1:2 hobby packs, 1:13 blaster packs
  • Retro, 100 cards, 1:2 hobby packs, 1:12 blaster packs
  • O-Pee-Chee Premier, 35 cards, hobby and e-Pack exclusive

Path to Victory has Orange Ray /15 and Golden Treasures 1/1 parallels. Sweet Selections adds Green Ray /35, Orange Ray /15 and Golden Treasures 1/1. Vibe Check offers Ray /85, Green Ray /35, Orange Ray /15 and Golden Treasures 1/1.

Retro is once again a major part of the release, with 65 veterans and 35 rookies. Parallels are Rainbow, Green Laser /75, Houndstooth /15 and Golden Treasures 1/1, while blasters also add Pink Pulsar. Collectors who like the old-school O-Pee-Chee look on chromium stock should find this one especially appealing.

O-Pee-Chee Premier remains hobby and e-Pack exclusive and includes veteran stars such as David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Cole Caufield, Macklin Celebrini, Sidney Crosby, Auston Matthews and Jack Eichel, plus a rookie group featuring Demidov, Leonard, Snuggerud, Buium, Nikishin, Levshunov, Sennecke, Matthew Schaefer and Michael Misa.

Variations and case-level chase appeal

Variations help deepen the checklist without overwhelming it. Mixed Media Variants are hobby and e-Pack exclusives and include veterans like Cale Makar, Roman Josi, Owen Power, Sidney Crosby, Jack Hughes, Leon Draisaitl, David Pastrnak and Matthew Tkachuk. Rookie Mixed Media Variants are limited to Alexander Nikishin, Zeev Buium, Ivan Demidov, Jimmy Snuggerud and Ryan Leonard.

The other notable variation theme is Pond Hockey Variants for Marquee Rookies. That five-card lineup includes Zeev Buium, Ivan Demidov, Jimmy Snuggerud, Ryan Leonard and Matthew Schaefer. Those names alone give the subset significant collector attention.
