2025-26 Donruss Basketball Checklist, Hobby Box Details, Parallels and Key Rookie Cards

2025-26 Donruss Basketball brings three autographs per hobby box, Downtown inserts, a 200-card base set, and a loaded mix of rookies, legends, and NIL prospects.

2025-26 Donruss Basketball Checklist, Hobby Box Details, Parallels and Key Rookie Cards

Panini is keeping Donruss Basketball on the calendar for 2025-26, even as the hobby adjusts to a new licensed landscape. The result is a familiar flagship-style release with a few notable twists, including a much stronger autograph guarantee, a deep 200-card base checklist, and one of the biggest Donruss insert lineups in recent memory.

Because the product is not fully licensed, the cards use player names and team cities rather than full logos and official nicknames. Even with that limitation, Donruss still looks built to appeal to a wide range of collectors. Rookie chasers get a large incoming class, prospect collectors get NIL names and high school talent, and longtime Donruss fans get staple inserts like Net Marvels, Unleashed, Swish and Zero Gravity, plus a major addition in Downtown.

The hobby box configuration is one of the biggest headlines. Collectors can expect three autographs per hobby box, a major increase from prior Donruss Basketball hobby formats, along with a large volume of parallels and Optic cards. That combination should keep boxes active from the first pack through the last.

2025-26 Donruss Basketball at a glance

  • Release date: June 5, 2026
  • Cards per pack: 8
  • Packs per hobby box: 12
  • Boxes per case: 16
  • Set size: 200 cards

Expected hobby box content includes:

  • 3 autographs
  • 12 base parallels
  • 24 base Optic cards or Optic parallels
  • 8 inserts or insert parallels

That mix gives the product a stronger hit profile than many collectors are used to seeing from standard Donruss Basketball.

Base set structure and prospect focus

The 200-card base set blends NBA rookies, active stars, retired greats, coaches, entertainers, college standouts and NIL-backed prospects. Panini is also adding its Premier Logo designation to the first cards of prospects who have signed NIL deals with the company, giving the release a first-card angle that could matter to player collectors.

Among the most important prospect names in the release are Darius Acuff Jr., Yaxel Lendeborg, Jayden Quaintance, Karim Lopez, Meleek Thomas, Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd, Olivia Miles, Lauren Betts, Tyran Stokes, Jordan Smith Jr., Jason Crowe Jr., Babatunde Oladotun and Christian Collins.

The NBA rookie and young star side is also strong. VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson III, Jeremiah Fears, Khaman Maluach, Cedric Coward, Noa Essengue, Derik Queen, Carter Bryant, Thomas Sorber, Hansen Yang, Joan Beringer, Walter Clayton Jr., Will Riley, Asa Newell and Nique Clifford are all part of the main foundation of the set.

Veteran and legend representation is broad as well. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Trae Young, Cade Cunningham, Ja Morant, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Patrick Ewing, Steve Nash, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Julius Erving, Dirk Nowitzki, Kevin Garnett, Derrick Rose, Allen Iverson and Chris Webber are among the bigger names collectors will find across base and autograph content.

Base parallels and Optic parallels

Donruss remains a rainbow-heavy product, and 2025-26 continues that trend in both paper and Optic form. The standard base set has a long parallel run that starts with unnumbered versions and works its way into lower-numbered hobby chases.

The Optic side of the checklist mirrors the full 200-card base roster and adds its own chrome-style chase. Those cards should be some of the more popular box-break pieces because hobby collectors tend to gravitate toward shiny Donruss content, even inside the flagship release.

Autographs get a major boost

The jump to three autographs per hobby box changes the feel of the product immediately. Instead of treating Donruss as mostly a parallel and insert rip with one signature, collectors now get a much better chance of landing multiple meaningful hits in a single box.

Panini has spread the autograph checklist across several concepts. Traditional base autographs are joined by Base Optic Autographs, Art Signatures Horizontal, Art Signatures Vertical, Donruss Ink, Dominators Autographs, Elite Signatures, Fade to Greatness, Hardwood Kings, Inscriptions, License To Drive, Net Marvels Signatures, Pen Pals and Significant Signatures.

Pen Pals, Art Signatures and Inscriptions are especially important because they include on-card signatures. That adds a premium layer to the release and gives collectors some standout targets beyond the base auto checklist.

The autograph roster is broad. Key rookies include VJ Edgecombe, Jeremiah Fears, Tre Johnson III, Carter Bryant, Hugo Gonzalez, Derik Queen, Cedric Coward and Hansen Yang. Established stars and legends include Cade Cunningham, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant, Trae Young, Chris Webber, Julius Erving, Kevin Garnett, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Steve Nash.

The checklist also expands beyond players. Coaches such as Jim Calhoun, Dan Hurley, Todd Golden, Jim Boeheim, Bobby Knight, Roy Williams, Billy Donovan, John Calipari, Geno Auriemma and Bill Self all appear in the product. So do entertainment and crossover names like Ludacris, Spike Lee and Dick Vitale.

Notable autograph subsets and examples

  • Art Signatures Horizontal features pairings such as Tre Johnson III/VJ Edgecombe, Allen Iverson/VJ Edgecombe, Cedric Coward/Ja Morant and Geno Auriemma/Jim Calhoun.
  • Dual Autographs includes Jared McCain/VJ Edgecombe, Dusty May/Yaxel Lendeborg, Spike Lee/Patrick Ewing, Cade Cunningham/Ja Morant and Magic Johnson/Giannis Antetokounmpo.
  • Dominators Autographs mixes stars and rookies, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, Ja Morant, VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson III, Jeremiah Fears, Dirk Nowitzki and Derrick Rose.
  • Elite Signatures brings in players from several levels of the basketball world, from JT Toppin and Karim Lopez to Hakeem Olajuwon, Kevin Garnett and Julius Erving.
  • Net Marvels Signatures adds stylized autograph content for Walter Clayton Jr., VJ Edgecombe, Hugo Gonzalez, Ja Morant, Trae Young, Cade Cunningham, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Magic Johnson and Allen Iverson.

Insert lineup and SSP chase cards

Donruss has long been driven by inserts, and the 2025-26 edition leans hard into that strength. Familiar themes are back, and most insert parallel runs are capped at /135 or lower before dropping to 1/1 versions.

The most talked-about insert development is the arrival of Downtown in flagship Donruss Basketball. That SSP brand has been one of Panini's most recognizable case-hit style concepts in other products, and its move into Donruss should create instant interest across breaks and singles.

Slammy also crosses into the flagship line after previously appearing in Donruss Optic, while Night Moves returns with its colorful late-night visual style. Elite Series is back in basketball for the first time since 2016-17, giving longtime Donruss collectors another nostalgic element to chase.

Main insert sets

  • Alter Ego
  • Animation
  • Downtown
  • Elite Series
  • Net Marvels
  • Night Moves
  • Slammy
  • Swish
  • Unleashed
  • Zero Gravity

Key names in the SSP and premium insert mix

Downtown includes Carter Bryant, Tre Johnson III, Joan Beringer, Khaman Maluach, Jeremiah Fears, Hugo Gonzalez, Derrick Rose, Nique Clifford, Hansen Yang, Will Riley, Ja Morant, Walter Clayton Jr., Derik Queen, Thomas Sorber, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Cade Cunningham, Cedric Coward, Trae Young, VJ Edgecombe and Noa Essengue.

Night Moves features a similarly strong checklist with VJ Edgecombe, Jeremiah Fears, Ja Morant, Tre Johnson III, Walter Clayton Jr., Tyran Stokes, Derik Queen, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Derrick Rose, Khaman Maluach, Hansen Yang, Carter Bryant, Thomas Sorber, Noa Essengue, Cade Cunningham, Asa Newell, Trae Young and Joan Beringer.

Collectors who prefer artwork-driven inserts should pay close attention to Net Marvels, Unleashed, Swish and Slammy, all of which carry major rookie names while also bringing in stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ja Morant, Cade Cunningham, Trae Young, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.

Memorabilia cards

Memorabilia content is organized into three main sets: Donruss Threads, Jersey Kings and Jersey Series. These are not the headline draw of the product, but they add more depth to hobby boxes and provide additional rookie-focused content.

Among the names found in memorabilia checklists are Carter Bryant, Jamir Watkins, Rasheer Fleming, Ryan Kalkbrenner, Hansen Yang, Tre Johnson III, VJ Edgecombe, Derik Queen, Jeremiah Fears, Khaman Maluach, Thomas Sorber, Walter Clayton Jr., Hugo Gonzalez, Nique Clifford, Noah Penda and Joan Beringer.

Parallels for memorabilia cards include Green /99, Red /75, Blue /25, Gold /10 and Black /1.

Collector notes on scarcity and chase potential

There are several different ways to attack this release depending on your style. Rookie collectors have a long list of first-year names spread across base, Optic, autographs and inserts. Prospect collectors get a rare flagship product that also reaches into college basketball, high school stars and international names. Set builders have a manageable 200-card checklist before the parallel rainbow begins to expand the challenge.

For single-card chasers, Downtown should command the biggest early spotlight, especially for VJ Edgecombe, Tre Johnson III, Ja Morant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Cade Cunningham. On-card Pen Pals and Art Signatures should also draw attention. If you prefer lower-numbered autos with more visual personality, subsets like Hardwood Kings, License To Drive, Fade to Greatness and Net Marvels Signatures look like strong alternatives to the main base autograph run.

Collectors who track college and NIL talent will also want to note names such as Sarah Strong, Azzi Fudd, Alex Karaban, Braylon Mullins, Darius Acuff Jr., Meleek Thomas, Jayden Quaintance, Karim Lopez and Tyran Stokes, all of whom help give 2025-26 Donruss Basketball a wider reach than a standard NBA-only checklist.
